About A. Day
Mvskoke Artist. Performer. Innovator.
Andrea Day (Mvskoke Nation) is the artist behind A. Day’s Work and the creator of the self-developed medium, Acrybead™ — a layered practice that integrates acrylic paint with meticulously hand-sewn seed beads on stretched canvas.
Her works blends ancestral knowledge with an eye for contemporary life, shaped by a childhood in Oklahoma and over a decade of experimental performance, music, and movement in New York City. She brings the energy of both places into each piece — from wild flora and urban geometry to the unseen patterns that connect story, spirit, and space.
“I created Acrybead™ to push boundaries of what First American art can be — bridging traditional materials with contemporary techniques and storytelling. My work layers paint and beadwork to create pieces that embody both beauty and meaning.”

Where Art Speaks Mvskoke
A. Day’s Work is rooted in the belief that visual art can hold more than beauty — it can carry layered meaning and conversation. Whether it’s a bloom rendered in beadwork or a skyline shaped from binary code, her work invites viewers to pause, look closer, and connect.
Every piece offers more than what’s on the surface: embedded Mvskoke language, coded messages, or symbolic references spark memory, curiosity, and presence. These visual stories are a direct result of her cross-disciplinary background — including collaborations with choreographers, composers, and artists who challenge the edges of their fields.
